Arguably the most 'homo-loving' Academy Awards broadcast of all time, Sunday night's Oscar ceremony helmed by Hugh Jackman, was watched by somewhere in the neighborhood of 36.3 million viewers which means that it earned over four million more viewers than 2008's broadcast hosted by Jon Stewart and that it was seen by more viewers than the American Idol Season 8 premiere.
Here's the scene: it is midnight and you're sweating; you're tossing; you're turning. No, you're not watching reruns of L Word, Season 1; you're losing sleep over that dreaded pile of bills in the kitchen. Well, you can rest assured knowing that there are ways, even in this economy, that you can drastically cut down your monthly expenses, leaving more room to pay off debt and start saving for the future and maybe even to hop on a lesbian cruise.
Next to that glorious golden statuette so many of Hollywood's A-list gather in hopes of taking home on Oscar night, the most glamorous thing about the Academy Awards is the fashion nowadays. As in previous years, the 2009 couture parade was a mixed bag of fashion rights and wrongs albeit with more of the former than the latter for a change this year. From Kate Winslet to Mickey Rourke, here are our picks of the best and the worst from the Oscars red carpet.
