Slumdog Millionaire may have taken home eight Oscars Sunday, but Sean Penn deserved an award for his unshakable courage and selfless determination ever given on the grand stage. At The 81st Annual Academy Awards, Penn took home the Oscar in the best actor category for his remarkable portrayal of the late gay San Francisco political activist, Harvey Milk in Gus Van Sant's film Milk. "You commie homo loving sons of guns!" Penn exclaimed inside Hollywood's Kodak Theater.
Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black accepts the 2009 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
