PROMISE OR REVERSAL? Though President Barack Obama's proposed budget calls for an increase in AIDS funding, reaction to the plan is mixed among HIV/AIDS activists as some question whether it does what he promised during his campaign.
Despite the stereotype that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community, gay men in particular, have more disposable income, we've all been impacted by the economic downturn. Despite all the hardship, we have the opportunity to set the example just like we did during the early days of the AIDS crisis. Today, we face an economic crisis--one that knows no race, religion, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Lesbians and gay men do get along. This week it's about Jennifer Aniston's Bond Girl fantasy, and no, it's not that she wants to hook up with one. Then, it's TV movie hell with a little help from Rosie O'Donnell, Kirstie Alley and Meredith Baxter Birney. Oprah and Gayle King are like an old lesbo couple that loves Milk's Dustin Lance Black. And there's the usual drooling over Tamara Braun, Kate Winslet and lesbian sex on the L Word.
As many in Washington were digging themselves out from under the snow, President Obama yesterday announced Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as his latest nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. We’ll be paying close attention to Governor Sebelius’s recommendations for reforming the nation’s struggling healthcare system, particularly regarding HIV/AIDS.  So far, we’ve seen at least one encouraging sign that Gov.
