Today the Commonwealth of Massachusetts filed a federal challenge to Section 3 the Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”) as applied to Massachusetts citizens who are legally married (read HRC’s press release). Are Gay & lesbian Couples Who Married Outside of State Still Legally Married in California?
Massachusetts sued the U.S. government on Wednesday to seek federal marriage benefits for about 16,000 gay and lesbian couples who have wed since the state became the nation's first to legalize same-sex marriage.
Pennsylvania state Sen. Daylin Leach introduced legislation to legalize marriage for gay and lesbian couples. He announced on Good Day Philadelphia that he has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday afternoon in order to increase support for the bill.
