Gay teen suicide is a pretty serious issue. It's caught the attention of celebrities like Jodie Foster and politicians like Hillary Clinton, and not without good reason.
According to some studies as many as 33% of gay youth will attempt suicide. Additionally, up to four times as many GLBT youth will attempt suicide as will straight youth.
That's why it is so important for GLBT youth to have resources like the Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is a suicide helpline geared towards gay teens. It was first launched to coincide with an HBO movie called, Trevor about a 13-year-old boy who attempts suicide after being harassed for his sexual orientation.
If you need help, you can reach them at, 866-4-U-Trevor.
