There was a bit of strife within the GLBTQIA community regarding Jamaican homophobia and hate crime.
Personally, when I hear about such things it stays with me. I still won't eat at a Cracker Barrel, give to salvation army or drink Coors beer. While I realize some of these issues have been resolved, there are plenty of other never-listed places where I can spend my money.
Therefore, Jamaica has already cost themselves income for life.
Keep up the "good fight" down there folks. Perhaps you can warrant a full blown boycott soon.

There is a good reason that gays and lesbians in Jamaica don't support a tourism boycott. It would endanger thir very livelihood. See JFLAG's press release at http://www.asylumlaw.org/docs/sexualminorities/Jamaica030208.pdf
