Albany, New York) Health and human service providers across New York State targeting LGBT communities will receive almost $8 million from the 2008-09 State Budget.
"We know that this is a difficult time for New York State fiscally and we are very pleased that Governor Paterson and the Assembly have essentially maintained the historic level of funding that our community received in last year’s budget,” said Empire State Pride Agenda Executive Director Alan Van Capelle.
The new budget increases the funding to its highest level in years said Van Capelle.
note: This is all very interesting considering the fact that Mayor Bloomberg just abolished the New York City LGBT Health Dept.
