Oregon: The DisOrient Asian American Film Festival
The DisOrient Asian American Film Festival and Basic Rights Oregon proudly present “Arranged Family Secrets,” a program of exciting new shorts, both documentary and narrative, produced by Asian American GLBTQ directors.
WHEN: Sunday, April 27, from 1 - 3 pm
WHERE: Bijou Art Cinemas, 492 East 13th Ave. in Eugene, Oregon
WHAT: The six films are:
- “Summer” directed by Hong Khaou, UK”
- “Can You Keep a Secret?” directed by Jay Esguerra;
- “Lead Role: Father” directed by PJ Raval;
- “Milind Soman Made me Gay” directed by Harjant Gill;
- “Modern Day Arranged Marriage” directed by Rehana Mirza;
- “In God’s House: Asian American Lesbian and Gay Families in the Church” directed by Lina Hoshino.
WHY: To get rid of secrets at the family level so that the struggle for human rights and dignity can be waged out in the public political arena.

Thailand's secret history

About 2,000 books, magazines, photo albums, video tapes, movie and audio CDs relating to homosexuals fill the small room that is the country's only library dedicated to documenting the local gay community.
